SAI's Advantage
History

Very few companies can compare their global presence to SAI's. Our elite status was achieved through a great deal of hard work and dedication.

In 1986, Dr. Ramesh Wadhwani founded SAI Systems International. Based on his extensive education including a PhD and a background in telecommunications, he felt the need to start an IT firm of his own in Connecticut.

In 1989 with the US personal computer market booming, SAI created a joint venture in Hong Kong with JP Technologies to create a distribution center for PC parts. SAI was then able to provide quality products at very competitive prices.

In 1990, SAI decided to leverage the engineering expertise that existed within the company. In a joint venture with Technica House in Taiwan, SAI began research and development to create a footprint PC. The venture was successful and continues today. This small footprint PC is known as the Millennium and was first on the market. SAI remains the sole distributor of this product in the Western Hemisphere.

In 1994, SAI's software practice began to expand. The decision was made to invest in offshore growth. SAI partnered with a growing software organization in India. The match was perfect for SAI's growth pattern. This partnership in result provided a strong development capability offshore.

In 1996, SAI formed a bi-directional joint venture with SMX in Venezuela, SAI focused on marketing SMX development capabilities in the US market. In turn SMX began to market SAI's gamut of IT Services in it's South American business arena.

In 1997, SAI partnered with Gulf Land, an organization in Kuwait that was interested in expanding their array of services.

Later that same year (1997), SAI established a sales office in London

1998 SAI's offshore partnership was bought out and is now wholly owned by SAI Systems International, Inc. It is currently based in Pune, India.
